Lil Yachty could be staying with WWE longer than expected, as the rapper is reportedly talking with the company about extending his current deal.
Yachty has become a regular part of WWE programming in recent months. What was expected as just a celebrity appearance has now turned into a much bigger role, with Yachty becoming closely linked to Trick Williams and his WWE storylines.
Lil Yachty is reportedly in talks with WWE over a contract extension
According to False Finish, sources say Yachty is in talks with WWE about a contract extension. Nothing has been finalized yet, but the discussions suggest that both sides are interested in continuing to work together.
Williams first invited Yachty to WWE at the beginning of April. His involvement grew, and he eventually started working as a manager alongside the former United States Champion.
Yachty became part of the former US Champion’s “Gingerbread Man” storyline before Williams’ WrestleMania match against Sami Zayn. Since then, the rapper has continued appearing with Williams and has become an important part of his presentation.
Lil Yachty’s most recent appearance came during Williams’ United States Championship match against Baron Corbin at SummerSlam. Williams eventually lost the title, but Yachty was involved throughout the match.
He tried to help Williams. However, Corbin pulled him onto the ring apron and then sent him crashing through a table that Williams had set up outside the ring. The moment showed just how much Yachty’s role has grown since he first appeared.
The rapper has also been working out alongside Williams at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. WWE has even shared some of his training sessions on its YouTube channel. A future tag team match featuring Yachty and Williams could be an easy way for WWE to build on their relationship and take their storyline to the next level.
For now, though, nothing has been finalized. Yachty’s future with WWE will depend on how the ongoing negotiations play out.
