There’s an update regarding Brock Lesnar’s future in WWE after SummerSlam.
Brock Lesnar will be in action at Night One of WWE SummerSlam. This will be in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1. He will take on Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match. The contest could mark the culmination of their feud, which is currently deadlocked at one win each.
Lesnar previously teased a retirement after losing to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42. However, he returned soon after to defeat Femi at Clash in Italy. Now, there are talks that SummerSlam in Minneapolis could be the final outing of the Beast Incarnate’s in-ring career due to his roots in the city. John Cena also hinted at it during an interview back in December 2025.
Brock Lesnar’s WWE status and potential next appearance after SummerSlam
WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select) has now provided an update on the situation. They noted that sources told them the feeling within WWE is that Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam will not be the final match of Brock Lesnar’s career.
One source told them that they’d be surprised if Brock Lesnar doesn’t step away from WWE television for a while before returning in time for WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.
The report notes that Lesnar has always operated in a way that ensures his creative plans never leak. So, if SummerSlam does end up being his final outing, it’s certainly not something that’s widely known or being discussed backstage in WWE.
