When THQ video games released the “WWE All Stars” Video Game”, a “fantasy matchup” was presented between Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk to promote the “2 Generations, 1 Ring” concept of the game.
Then all hell broke loose.
Austin and Punk started legitimately sending angry tweets back-and-forth to each other, which was rather strange since it occurred the week before WrestleMania.
Of course, that means the person behind the advertising campaign, former ECW Owner and WWE Smackdown head writer Paul Heyman decided it was time to capitalize.
So now THQ is presenting “The Rematch of the Century” between Austin and Punk, which is sure to flame the fire of speculation of what would really happen if WWE got Austin to come out of retirement to work a match against Punk, whose contract is expiring later this year.
Very interesting scenario, to say the least.
