Nikki Bella Highlights Why Being Competitive Is A Good Thing

Nikki Bella explains why competitiveness can be a good thing for her professional career.

With backgrounds in soccer and professional wrestling, Nikki and Brie Bella consider themselves to be competitive athletes. For Nikki, the trait has actually led her to a number of accomplishments as well.

“Yes, I’m definitely more competitive [than Brie]. It’s helped me be a champion in all things,” Nikki told Variety, “and win a lot of awards, and get a lot of MVPs, Diva of the Year, so being very competitive is a very good thing.”

According to Brie, she isn’t nearly as competitive as Nikki. Nevertheless, WWE named her as the co-Diva of the Year alongside Nikki in 2013.

“I got Diva of the Year and I wasn’t,” Brie said. “I am very actually competitive, just not as much as her.”

In her professional wrestling career, Nikki has enjoyed two reigns as WWE Divas Champion, the second of which earned her the Guinness World Record for the longest Divas Title run. WWE further recognizes Nikki as a two-time Diva of the Year winner (2013 and 2015). Alongside Brie, she then joined the WWE Hall of Fame in 2020.

In addition to WWE Hall of Famer status, Brie Bella has one Divas Championship and one Women’s Tag Team Championship reign to her name. The latter materialized when Paige stepped in as her partner in a four-way tag team title match at WWE WrestleMania 42. Their reign spanned three months before Fatal Influence (Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley) dethroned them at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Brie and Nikki are now slated to team with Paige to face all three Fatal Influence members at WWE SummerSlam.
