Jessika Carr Steps Outside WWE Role With Aerial Debut

Referee Jessika Carr is celebrating a significant personal milestone outside WWE.

WWE referee Jessika Carr took to Instagram to announce her first-ever public performance in aerial arts, specifically using an apparatus called the lyra (also known as an aerial hoop). She highlighted a deep emotional connection between her new hobby and her family history.

“Happy to share my first ever performance in aerial arts performing on lyra! The song was very special to me. When I was a little girl me and my mom worked together to make a little performance for my dad to tell him my mom was pregnant with my brothers. To surprise both mom and dad with this song was special and you can see me almost tear up throughout.

More posts on this incredible night to come. But thank you to my incredible family @aerialarts.studio for all the incredible support. And thank you to everyone who was there to cheer me on. Proud of me and this crazy journey, thank you for following along,” Jessika Carr posted.

Jessika Carr signed with WWE in 2017 and became the first female referee in the promotion since the 1980s. Before signing with the promotion, she worked the independent circuit under the names Jessie Kaye and Kennadi Brink. She also competed in WWE Evolve last year as Kalyx. She’s also had an interesting angle with Becky Lynch over the past few months as The Man accused the official of bias during her matches.
