WWE Doesn’t Plan To Stop Celebrity Cameos Any Time Soon — Report

A recent report revealed backstage reactions to celebrity involvement in WWE. Several celebrities and influencers were part of major storylines at WrestleMania 42. Their involvement drew mixed reactions from fans online. Some enjoyed it, others questioned the focus.

The show featured multiple celebrity appearances across both nights. IShowSpeed competed in a six-man tag match. He teamed with Logan Paul and Austin Theory. Lil Yachty appeared at ringside for Trick Williams’ match against Sami Zayn.

Another major involvement came from Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee, who were part of the storyline between Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Fans reacted differently to these appearances, as some felt it added entertainment value to the show.

However, others believed it took attention away from wrestlers. Celebrity involvement has been part of WWE events for years. WrestleMania often includes crossover moments like this.

WWE happy with celebrity performances and plans more appearances

According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), WWE officials had a clear reaction backstage. The report stated that WWE viewed the involvement positively. The performances brought attention and visibility to the show. That response differed from some fan reactions online. Going forward, celebrity involvement is expected to continue, and future events, including summer shows, could feature similar appearances.

“WWE sources told Fightful Select that they were extremely happy with all the celebrity performances. In addition, we’re told that they won’t be stopping any time soon,” the outlet wrote.

It was noted that celebrity involvement will slow down after WrestleMania, but it won’t stop. According to Fightful, there are still plans “for additional celebrities to be worked into WWE programming in the future,” which includes this summer.

Despite there being plans for more cameos, no names were listed in the report. It was also noted that Tom Brady was at least contacted about appearing on WWE TV, but it’s unclear why it didn’t ultimately happen.
