EVIL has arrived in WWE NXT.
The April 28 episode of NXT featured Tony D’Angelo in an in-ring segment when the lights suddenly went out and music took over. From the back emerged a hooded figure. The person entered the ring, removed their disguise, and revealed themselves as EVIL.
The NXT crowd acknowledged him with “EVIL” chants. On commentary, Vic Joseph referred to him as a former IWGP Champion. EVIL then handed Tony D’Angelo a shirt with Japanese writing on it before simply walking out of the ring.
While his name was never directly mentioned on commentary, Vic Joseph alluded to his well-known persona, saying, “Or that’s just a gift of pure evil.”
After EVIL’s exit, Tony D’Angelo was attacked by a debuting Will Kross. The big man laid out the NXT Champion with a moonsault, teasing a potential showdown with The Don of NXT. Fans on social media criticized commentary for referring to Kross as a fan during the segment.
EVIL later addressed his arrival on social media. On X, the former New Japan Pro Wrestling star posted a brief message confirming his debut.
“I’ve Arrived.”
EVIL is best known for his run in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he made his name as part of Los Ingobernables de Japón. He is the only wrestler in NJPW history to become a triple champion, having held the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, IWGP Intercontinental Championship, and NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship.
