Dakota Kai Addresses Possible WWE Return

Dakota Kai addressed the possibility of a WWE return recently. She was released by WWE in May 2025. After that, she took time away from wrestling. The break lasted nearly a year.

During that period, she stayed away from in-ring competition. Kai, now known as Charlie, returned to action last month. She faced Kris Statlander at Wrestle Queendom 8. She also competed against Shotzi Blackheart at HOG Culture Clash 2026.

These matches marked her return to the ring after the break. With her return, questions came up about her future. That included the possibility of going back to WWE. She spoke about that topic in an interview and the focus was on her current mindset and plans.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Kai shared her thoughts. She said she does not rule out a return. At the same time, she is not making any immediate decisions.

“I’m never one to burn bridges ever, in any capacity. They always treated me good and gave me good opportunities. So, who knows really. Yeah, I don’t know. I would love to just be able to focus on me right now and doing what’s best for me. I would never wanna just take any contract or whatever just for the sake of it.”

“I think I’m at a point in my career where I want to do things with intention, and that doesn’t just mean doing it for the sake of doing it.”

It seems that Kai is just not ready to make her return yet, as it appears she is making a name for herself in the independent scene. However, a higher profile could lead to her WWE return in the future.
