WWE Hall of Famer Sycho Sid’s son has put in a bid to acquire the iconic Mid-South Coliseum.
Sycho Sid’s son, Gunnar Eudy, revealed last year that he plans to launch his own wrestling promotion, TWO: The Wrestling Order. He plans to hold the first annual Sycho Sid Memorial Benefit Show as the inaugural event, and WCW and WWE legend Eric Bischoff has also volunteered to appear.
Now, taking to Facebook, Gunnar Eudy has revealed that he placed a bid to acquire the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee. He’s hoping to make it the permanent home of his new wrestling promotion.
“Well it’s official. I just put in an offer on the Mid-South Coliseum with hopes of making it the permanent home for TWO, The Wrestling Order. It’s going to need a lot of renovations and work but it will be 100% worth it. This is a dream I’ve had for a long time. Memphis wrestling history belongs here,” Sycho Sid’s son posted.
Opened in 1964, the Mid-South Coliseum became known as “The Entertainment Capitol of the Mid-South.” The venue closed in 2006, and there were efforts to revive and refurbish the arena in the late 2010s. Several memorable wrestling moments occurred at the Coliseum, including the infamous 1981 incident in which Jerry Lawler nearly caused Terry Funk to lose an eye.
Sycho Sid was posthumously inducted into the 2026 class of the WWE Hall of Fame. However, Gunnar Eudy expressed frustration over how the promotion handled the induction. He noted that there was minimal visible promotion for his father throughout Las Vegas during the WrestleMania week. He also criticized the lack of merchandise honoring Sid at the official Hall of Fame gift shop.
Jim Ross was also one of the people who said that Sid deserved a better Hall of Fame induction, calling him an overqualified candidate.
