WWE Legend Calls Bo Dallas’ Release a Mistake Despite Wyatt Sicks’ Failed Run

The latest WWE release has got many people talking, and Bully Ray had a strong opinion about it. Although the Wyatt Sicks group has been released, Ray believes WWE made a mistake by releasing their leader, Bo Dallas.

On the April 24 roster cuts, WWE released Bo Dallas, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Nikki Cross. While Bully Ray wasn’t too surprised that the group ended, he didn’t agree with letting Bo Dallas go, especially since he played Uncle Howdy.

Bully Ray believes WWE should have kept Bo Dallas after Wyatt Sicks run

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray said that these kinds of dark characters are hard to handle in today’s wrestling. Moreover, he felt Bo Dallas was more than just a character.

“Am I shocked that the Wyatt Sicks are no longer here? No, I’m not shocked. However, I would have never got rid of Bo Dallas. Bo Dallas is the link to Bray,” Ray said.

Bray Wyatt’s legacy is still very important after his passing in 2023. Ray believes Dallas could have kept that emotional link alive for fans. He even shared an idea WWE could have used.

“I would have kept Bo Dallas around and I would have kept the character doing something. Even if Uncle Howdy, for the rest of his WWE career, was always trying to find a way to talk to Bray Wyatt, to The Fiend, one more time, and that was his entire story, and his entire quest. Because the last time we saw the Fiend was in the WWE, so Uncle Howdy was always searching the WWE for the door, for the stargate to find The Fiend, and we always saw him, and as we move along in his story, somebody is always trying to stop him,” Ray added.

The Wyatt Sicks group first appeared in 2024 as a tribute to Bray Wyatt. It mixed elements from his past characters with a darker style. With Bo Dallas leading as Uncle Howdy, the group got attention early on because of its emotional story. At one point, Joe Gacy and Dexter Lumis even won tag team titles.

But over time, things slowed down. The storylines became repetitive, often focusing on symbols like Wyatt’s lantern without much progress. Because of that, fans slowly lost interest.
