Demolition Reacts to WWE Tag Team’s Tribute at WrestleMania 42

Demolition made sure to show their appreciation for a modern-day tribute.

Ax and Smash were officially inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the 2026 class, with fellow legends Arn Anderson, Haku, and The Warlord doing the honors. The induction capped off a long-awaited recognition for one of WWE’s most dominant tag teams.

Their legacy didn’t just stay confined to the ceremony. During WrestleMania 42 Saturday, Nia Jax and Lash Legend paid homage to Demolition by sporting gear inspired by the iconic face-painted duo during their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match. Cameras even caught Ax and Smash in the crowd reacting to the tribute in real time.

Following the show, Smash (Barry Darsow) took to social media to thank the pair, praising both their look and the effort behind the homage, calling it a “great tribute.”

Demolition also appeared on stage alongside the rest of the Hall of Fame Class of 2026, which included names like AJ Styles and Stephanie McMahon, further cementing their place in a historic weekend for the company.

Known for their dominance in the tag team division, Demolition captured the WWF World Tag Team Championships three times. One of those reigns lasted over 400 days, placing them among the longest-reigning champions in WWE history.
