One of TNA Wrestling‘s most iconic events is coming back.
Per TNA, Lockdown will return on Sunday, August 23, with the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, Illinois as its location. As its name suggests, this pay-per-view event will feature a series of matches in which all of the action is contested inside a steel cage.
TNA will unveil the full Lockdown match lineup later this summer, though as of now, the following talents are confirmed to appear: Jeff and Matt Hardy (The Hardys), Nic Nemeth, TNA International Champion Mustafa Ali, Moose, AJ Francis, TNA World Champion Mike Santana, Steve Maclin, Brian Myers, Eric Young, and X-Division Champion Leon Slater. Representing the Knockouts division will be Ash By Elegance, Tessa Blanchard, Elayna Black, Indi Hartwell, and others.
TNA fans last saw Lockdown take shape in London’s Wembley Arena in 2016. There, Matt Hardy bested EC3 in a steel cage to capture the TNA World Championship. This year will mark the first Lockdown show since then and TNA’s first-ever overall show to take place inside the Credit Union 1 Arena.
General ticket sales for TNA Lockdown go live on Friday, April 24, at 10am ET. Pre-sale opportunity will began on Wednesday, April 22.
Later tonight, TNA will broadcast its latest episode of Thursday Night iMPACT on AMC. Advertised bouts include EC3 vs Eric Young, KC Navarro vs. AJ Francis, and Jada Stone vs. Tasha Steelz. The System and Order 4 will also appear.
