WWE Star Confirms WrestleMania Absence Due To Second Upcoming Surgery

WWE star Santos Escobar has shared an update about his condition. The unfortunate update means he will miss WrestleMania 42, which is not what he wanted.

Escobar was already recovering from triceps surgery, which was going to keep him out for months. But now things have gotten worse, as a new complication has shown up. The issue started after his match at AAA Rey de Reyes, where he competed in a four-way match.

After the match, something felt off, as he was seen holding his arm. Later, he confirmed the injury was serious and needed surgery on his triceps. Recovery had already begun and everything seemed on track at first, but Escobar revealed there was a problem with his ulnar nerve. That changed everything, and he now needs another surgery.

Santos Escobar says he’ll miss WrestleMania after injury setback

Santos Escobar took to X, formerly known as Twitter. He shared the update himself on social media. He said, “Hey, familia. This is the emperor of lucha libre, Santos Escobar, with a quick update on WrestleMania week. As you probably already know, I went through triceps surgery.”

He continued, “There was a minor hiccup on the road with my ulnar nerve, a nerve that runs through my arm. So I’m gonna have to go and do surgery again to repair that situation.”

“[It] kills me not to be there with you this week, but to all of my WWE family, happy WrestleMania week, love you.”

Right now, there is no clear return timeline. Escobar is expected to be out for several months.
