CM Punk Addresses WWE Retirement Speculation With Bold Statement

CM Punk has addressed retirement speculation, and he made his stance very clear. He is not done yet, not even close.

At 47, Punk is at a similar stage as stars like John Cena and AJ Styles, who have already stepped away from in-ring competition. That led to fans wondering if Punk could be next. The speculation kept growing. But now, he has responded directly.

CM Punk shuts down retirement rumors

Speaking with SHAK Wrestling, CM Punk talked about being on the cover of WWE 2K26 and current run. He admitted he is in the later stages, but quickly dismissed any idea of retiring soon.

“I think poster boy is apt. I think it encompasses the whole career of CM Punk – the beginning, the middle, and obviously. We’re creeping towards ‘the end.’ [But] not anytime soon. Everybody, stop asking me. Stop freaking out.”

That made his position clear. He is not planning to retire right now. Punk is still competing at the highest level and remains in the main event scene.

He is currently preparing for a huge match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. That match will headline night two this weekend, which also marks his second straight WrestleMania main event.
