John Cena is excited to see the WrestleMania debuts of an incredible group of WWE Superstars.

Following his retirement from in-ring competition in December 2025, 17-time WWE Champion John Cena recently announced that he will be hosting WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas on April 18 and 19.

With the event fast approaching, John Cena took to X/Twitter to share that while he’s heard people telling him that they saw his first and last matches at the Show of Shows, he’s excited to say that he’ll be there to see the WrestleMania debuts of an incredible group of superstars, which includes Trick Williams, Oba Femi, Stephanie Vaquer, Je’Von Evans, and Lash Legend.

“Since retirement I’ve met so many wonderful people who’ve shared with me that they saw my first WrestleMania match … and my last. I’m so excited to be able to say ‘I was there!’ for the WM debuts of this incredible group! @LashLegendWWE @WWEJeVonEvans @_trickwilliams

Recent reports also noted that Cena hosting WrestleMania 42 was not a long-term plan and that it only came together in February. WWE reportedly made the move to increase ticket sales for the PLE.

During his recent appearance at MEGACon Orlando, John Cena revealed that he’s working on a new role within WWE and that he’s trying to find the best way to stay involved with the promotion.

“I am working diligently to try to figure out my next path as a contributing, useful member of WWE. I think I might crack the code, and I think we have something.” He also hinted that his role could become much bigger if everything works out. “if the stars align and everybody signs off, I will be a whole lot more integrated in the system, and I’m very excited about the road ahead, and I’ll just cross my fingers that it works,” John Cena said.
