Nikki Blackheart is getting ready to join WWE, and new reports say she is finishing her independent bookings before making the move.
Nikki Blackheart is on her way to WWE. A new report says she is finishing her indie bookings first. After that, she will head to the WWE Performance Center. Earlier reports also said she has already signed with WWE. She even took part in a WWE tryout back in February.
Fightful Select reports that Blackheart is currently completing her indie dates. She plans to move to Orlando, Florida soon to begin training at the WWE Performance Center. However, WWE has not officially announced her yet as part of a new Performance Center class.
At this point, there is no confirmed date for her final indie match or when she will officially report. Blackheart built momentum quickly on the independent circuit. She impressed fans and gained attention in a short time, which helped her earn a WWE tryout.
Nikki Blackheart shares story behind WWE tryout call
In an interview with Heavyweight Commentary, Blackheart explained how she got the tryout call at an unexpected time. She said, “I will say, you know, I found out about it in the craziest way. I had been just trying to figure out whether or not this was for me. I’m two years in and there’s a lot of people like, ‘I’ve been working for 10 years.’ I’m like, great, that’s good for you. But I like to know what my life looks like, I’m a little bit of a control freak. So I do want to know- is this- am I doing the right thing? Am I making the right decisions? Am I doing everything in my power to be able to achieve my goals, and is there something that I’m missing? How can I fix it?”
She said she kept asking herself if she was doing everything possible to reach her goals or if she was missing something important. “So I’m asking myself all these questions and, you know, it came down to, do I focus fully on my career in sales and, you know, go that route and be absolutely amazing at it? Or do I focus on this and do the same thing and, you know, go the whole way and then be absolutely amazing at it, and, it was one of those things where I’m so invested in wrestling, but I have to be a little bit of a realist. I’m like, is this making sense for me and where I want to be in my future?”

“I kid you not, ended up going to Orlando. I had an opportunity to, participate in a different company and things happen. I wasn’t able to wrestle, drove back the same day. I mean, it was like a, a very, very long day. Um, and then, the next day I get off a call, a sales call. I’m just like sitting down and I’m just like, like, dude, what am I doing? Like, I need to, I need, something’s got to give, like something’s got to happen, and within an hour later, I got the call that there, I had a tryout available.” [H/T: Fightful]
