Former WWE EVOLVE star Summer Sorrell has a different kind of spotlight with Banana Ball.
The WWE LFG season two star was part of Michelle McCool’s team on the show and things looked promising. However, a nagging injury kept Sorrell out of the ring, as she told WrestleZone’s Ella Jay that it was a back injury that she sustained as a college athlete.
Sorrell, aka Karyn Best, was eventually eliminated from the show, and WWE released her in October 2025.
Instead, she changed direction and chose a different path. She has now joined the Savannah Bananas, but not as a player, but rather in a more entertaining gameday role. Summer Sorrell is now working as a lifeguard for Banana Ball.
The lifeguards are part of gameday entertainment for the Loco Beach Coconuts, a team new to the league in 2026. Former Philadelphia Phillies and Boston Red Sox star and two-time World Series Champion Shane Victorino is the team’s “Primetime Coach.”
Sorrell revealed the news on X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing a photo of herself in her new role. “SURPRISE!!!? Meet @BananaBall_ ’s newest lifeguard?” This marks a move into a more entertainment-focused role while she continues to recover and plan her wrestling comeback.
Even in her new role, she still has a few dream matches in mind. After her release from WWE, she spoke about wanting to face Michelle McCool and Chelsea Green. She also pitched a mixed tag match, teaming up with her fiancé to take on Green and Ethan Page.
For now, though, it’s about recovery, and Sorrell has taken a new step in her career by joining the Savannah Bananas organization in Banana Ball. As she transitions into the entertainment-focused world of Banana Ball, she continues to embrace new opportunities.
