Jacob Fatu shares backstage stories about AJ Styles
Jacob Fatu is currently in a heated feud with Drew McIntyre, and both stars are expected to clash at WrestleMania 42. At the same time, Fatu has expressed strong admiration and respect for the former WWE Champion.
Speaking on Bootleg Kev, Jacob Fatu was asked about AJ Styles’ 2026 WWE Hall of Fame induction. He also praised Styles for being supportive and encouraging. “Oh yeah. Besides everything it was nothing but our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. That was one of the first things AJ will always tap in with. We will pray right before we head out.”
“But AJ seen how much of a family man we was and we cared about our kids and vice versa, he the same way. I remember we were overseas and getting it in… We all got our headphones on. (Styles said) ‘Hey uce, good s**t bro. Keep going, keep getting it bro.’ Little stuff like that. And then he be sending me some little 2Pac Christian songs on the side… He like, ‘2Pac baby, just thought about you right now uce, you gotta listen to it.'”
Fatu recalled another moment when Styles motivated him after returning from injury. “So to have that and then to have when I came back from my teeth bro. I got 11 teeth pulled out when I came back. Back in my first official match Saturday Night’s Main (Event) we opened the show up with Cody.”
“I’m over there doing my thing and I just took off my shirt, I really had to lock in and I always wrestle with a shirt on. He was like, ‘Hey bro, what you doing man? You got freaking abs. They’re not abs but they’re showing though.’ Now he kind of made it harder, it’s like, ‘Ok damn I really got to keep these.'”
Fatu said he could tell Styles was a good person based on how he treated his family members backstage. “AJ was always a good brother, not only to me, but just the love, how I see him interact with my cousins The Usos, especially with Jim, Jey and Solo. How I see someone interact with my family, that’s how I know, ok he a good bro. AJ definitely the big homie man.” [H/T: Wrestletalk]
