AEW delivered a wild match on the March 18, 2026, episode of Dynamite, where Darby Allin defeated Gabe Kidd in a brutal Coffin Match. After the win, the AEW star made it clear he has his eyes set on MJF and the World title.
The episode started with chaos even before the match officially began. Allin and Kidd started fighting in the parking lot. Kidd had the early advantage, slamming Allin onto a car and trying to choke him. But Allin quickly fought back.
Darby Allin knocked Kidd out using a chemical-soaked rag and stuffed him into a car trunk. Things went to the next level when Allin drove the car off a pile of trash, flipping it over with Kidd still inside the trunk. Allin then came out of the car and Kidd dropped from the trunk. Aliin then dragged Kidd into the arena on a box.
Once inside, the Coffin Match officially started, but the chaos didn’t stop. Allin used weapons like a straitjacket and his skateboard to try and control Kidd. Still, Kidd fought back hard, even biting Allin on the forehead and making him bleed.
Both men kept trading big hits. Allin hit a Scorpion Death Drop and a Coffin Drop, while Kidd answered with a powerful slam, even while partly tied up. Kidd almost won by trapping Allin in the coffin at one point, but Allin escaped by biting Kidd’s nose.
At the end, Allin took control and attacked Kidd with his skateboard, hit multiple Coffin Drops, and then tripped him using his belt. Finally, he hit a suicide dive that sent Kidd into the coffin. Allin won the match.
Darby Allin Calls Out MJF After Coffin Match Victory on AEW Dynamite
After the match, Allin grabbed a mic and sent a message. He said he will keep pushing himself until he reaches the top or something even bigger. Then he directly called out MJF and made it clear he wants the AEW World Championship next.
“I’m gonna hold that throttle until I see God or the AEW World Championship. Maxwell Jacob Friedman! I’m coming.” Allin said.
Allin and MJF have a long history. Both were part of AEW’s “Four Pillars,” and their rivalry has always been personal. From MJF’s harsh words to their famous match at Full Gear 2021, they have always been very different.
Now in 2026, both are two of the biggest names. MJF calls this the “Year of the Devil,” while Allin keeps pushing himself to the limit.
