A social media exchange between John Cena and AJ Styles took an unexpected turn this week. It all started with Styles airing a personal frustration while Cena offered a response that stayed firmly in his lane — and maybe shifted gears entirely.
Styles, who recently stepped away from in-ring competition, shared a warning on X regarding a disappointing experience while trying to secure his “dream car” in retirement.
Without going into full detail, the former WWE Champion cautioned fans to “beware” of a Porsche dealership in Nashville, calling it a bad experience “from top to bottom.”
It was a rare off-ring moment from “The Phenomenal One,” but it didn’t take long for a familiar rival to chime in.

Cena responded publicly, offering a different route — literally. Referencing his long-standing association with Honda, Cena suggested Styles consider a Civic Type R, adding that he knew “some folks” who could help if Styles was up for “front wheel burnouts and drift.”
The exchange reads like a classic Cena-Styles segment — only this time, the battleground was social media instead of a WWE ring.
While the tone remained light, the interaction added another chapter to their long-running rivalry, proving that even in retirement, they can still trade shots — or in this case, car recommendations.
Styles’ retirement followed his final WWE match at Royal Rumble 2026, where Gunther defeated him. Cena, too, saw his in-ring run wind down after a loss to the same opponent at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025, linking the two veterans through a common final hurdle.
In brighter news, Styles is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026 during WrestleMania weekend in Las Vegas. Reports suggest Cena could play a role in that moment, potentially swapping car talk for a more fitting tribute.
For now, though, it seems the only thing revving between the two is their sense of humor.
