Fans are calling out a WWE 2K26 player who’s charging money for custom slider settings.
The WWE 2K community has united to call out a self-proclaimed “Slider Specialist” who decided to put a price tag on something traditionally shared for free: custom gameplay sliders.
Sliders in WWE 2K games are advanced customizable gameplay settings that allow players to tweak several match mechanics with simple 0-100 sliders. It allows the players to make the gameplay more realistic, mimicking real wrestling matches. Community experts have refined them since WWE 2K14, fostering a culture of open collaboration instead of selling them.
In a post, which has since gone viral, user @ChecXmate_FGC defended selling the custom slider settings, claiming the default WWE 2K26 option delivers a “bland product” despite the players spending up to $150 for the game. He also shared what appear to be screenshots of some positive reviews from those who actually paid him $5 for the fix.
“Well then enjoy a bland default game you spent $150 on. I provide top quality realistic, life-like simulation gameplay experience whereas 2k , who are too lazy to test & release a game with its fully untapped potential, they give you guys a bland product. God bless #WWE2K26” he posted.
He received severe criticism from the WWE 2K community
Fans and WWE 2K26 players didn’t take too kindly to his defense and called him out for it, and noted that such tweaks can be found freely on several forums.
“This is actually crazy. Please do not give any money to people like this. Charging to give settings parameters for a game is ludicrous. This information can be found online, on YouTube, social media or the 2K forums. Or better yet, experiment yourself to find ones that suit YOU,” one fan posted.
“If the game was $150 for people then why charge them more for settings they can just find on YouTube and tweak? Where is the community in ripping people off?” another asked.
“‘Enjoy your bland game you spent $150 on. It would be better if you spent $155 with my sliders that you could figure out yourself.’ I hope the monkey’s paw curls and next year you have to unlock the ability for wrestlers to have fingernails,” another post read.
The Standard Edition of WWE 2K26 was released on Friday, March 13, after the special Attitude Era, King of Kings, and Monday Night War Editions were released via early access on March 6. 2K also released a patch for early access players to perfect the Ringside Pass feature.
