Stone Cold Steve Austin calls Chelsea Green fearless for taking risks in WWE.
Speaking to Zack Heydorn on The Takedown on SI, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin gave massive props to Chelsea Green. He noted that most wrestlers enter the business clueless, unless they’re a rare natural like Shawn Michaels, who knew what they were doing from day one.
Steve Austin admitted that he no longer follows the wrestling business as closely as he used to, due to his other endeavors, such as racing and beer. He stated that unless wrestlers evolve and reach people on an emotional level, they will not make any money.
He believes Chelsea Green is a current example of that mindset. He praised the former Women’s United States Champion, calling her fearless over her commitment to bold, creative risks, which have helped her stand out and get strong audience reactions.
“You’re an idiot when you first join the business,” Steve Austin said. “You just are, unless you’re Shawn Michaels and you kind of get it from day one. When you’re starving and you’re making $15 and $20 a night, you realize that you better get good pretty quick and learn how to reach people on an emotional level, so you can start making some money. I think that Chelsea Green does that a lot of time. She’s pretty fearless out there. On a creative note, she’ll go for it, and it’s done well for her.”
Chelsea Green hasn’t heard a storyline she’d turn down yet
Speaking to WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard at WWE 2K26 Creator Fest, Chelsea Green noted that she’s never heard a creative pitch she would turn down. She said turning something embarrassing down goes against her beliefs.
“Well, I haven’t run into that yet in 12 years. I mean, there’s got to be something that’s deeply embarrassing, I’m sure. But I’ve never come across it, and I couldn’t even come up with a make-believe scenario,” Chelsea Green began.
“At the end of the day, if I’d take any movie role, then why would I say no to something given to me in WWE? That’s how I think about it. I just want to make sure my career is as long and as entertaining as it can possibly be. I want to show every facet of who I can be.
“If I say no to something embarrassing, isn’t that going against what I’m telling you now? That’s how I feel. But who knows? Now they’re probably going to give me something embarrassing, and I’m going to have to say no,” Chelsea Green said.
