Danhausen’s arrival in WWE at Elimination Chamber 2026 may not have landed exactly as planned. However, recent reports suggest the company is pleased with how the situation has evolved in the weeks since.
The “Very Nice, Very Evil” personality made his debut as the mysterious figure emerging from a crate during the February 28 PLE.
The reveal generated an initial reaction from the crowd. However, the momentum faded by the time the segment reached the ring.
Still, WWE officials appear to be looking at the bigger picture.
WWE Reportedly Pleased With Danhausen’s Quick Turnaround
According to Fightful Select, several people within WWE acknowledged internally that the debut did not go over as expected. Nevertheless, the report notes that the reaction did not rattle Danhausen.
Sources indicated that WWE officials became impressed with how quickly he adapted following the debut segment.
“Those who Fightful Select spoke to in WWE were happy with the quick turnaround of Danhausen,” the report stated. “Most in the company knew that the debut was a flop, but said that the situation didn’t rattle him, and he responded well.”
Since the Elimination Chamber appearance, Danhausen has become a recurring presence across Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown. His segments have leaned heavily into his trademark “curse” gimmick, including backstage moments involving Dominik Mysterio, El Grande Americano, and most recently The Miz.
The crowd reaction has reportedly shifted as well. While his debut drew mixed responses, audiences have lauded his subsequent appearances.
Internally, Danhausen is currently listed as a free agent. This allows him to appear across multiple WWE brands rather than being restricted to a single show. That flexibility has allowed creative teams to use the character in various backstage and comedic segments.
Two weeks into his WWE run, the company appears to view the situation as a quick recovery rather than a misstep. In wrestling terms, the debut may have stumbled out of the gate — but Danhausen seems to have turned the early “curse” into a blessing.
