Tony Khan Open To AEW and UFC Appearing On Same Platform

Tony Khan isn’t hiding his excitement about the future of AEW.

Paramount is set to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery, and after the deal, Paramount+ and HBO Max will merge into a single streaming platform. AEW’s television shows and pay-per-views currently stream on HBO Max.

Tony Khan openly shared his vision for the future in a possible post–Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount deal. He said he would love to see AEW and UFC on the same platform.

Tony Khan Says He Would Welcome AEW Sharing A Platform With UFC

During the AEW Revolution media call, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer asked Tony Khan about the possible Warner Bros. Discovery and Paramount deal. Some believe that could hurt AEW in the long run.

Khan doesn’t see it that way, he sounded very positive about the whole situation. “I’m very excited about the future of Warner Brothers with the announcement of Paramount and Warner Brothers joining together,” Khan said.

He also pointed out that AEW has built a strong working relationship with Warner Bros. Since the company launched in 2019. Over the years, AEW programming expanded across several platforms first TNT, then TBS, and later HBO Max.

According to Khan, that growth has been huge for the company. “I think it will be huge for AEW because we know we’re going to be with TBS and TNT for a significant period of time already, and I expect to be with them for a long time to come,” he said.

He also spoke about the networks themselves. “TBS, TNT, and HBO Max now have a very secure future and there are lots of other platforms coming under the corporate umbrella, which I’m very excited about.”

When it comes to UFC potentially being on the same platform, Khan made his stance very clear. He’s completely open to it. “There are tons of sports that exist on these platforms. I would love to be on the same channel as the UFC,” Khan said.

He also revealed that he has a good relationship with UFC leadership. “I have a great relationship with Dana White and Hunter Campbell. While their sister promotion is also in pro wrestling and is of a competitive nature there, on my behalf, I would love to be on the same channel as UFC.”

He admitted that decisions like that will depend on how things unfold once the new leadership takes over. “If it was up to me, and certainly these are all things that have to be worked out in the future with leadership, but I would love that.”
