WWE reportedly has three interesting names in consideration to be Gunther’s WrestleMania 42 opponent.
Former two-time World Heavyweight Champion Gunther established himself as the career killer of WWE after retiring legends like Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles one after the other. He recently feuded with Styles’ former tag team partner, Dragon Lee, and unmasked him during their match on the latest episode of RAW.
With WrestleMania 42 approaching fast, fans have started speculating about what WWE has in store for Gunther at the Show of Shows in Las Vegas next month. Now, according to WrestleVotes Radio (via Fightful Select), the company is considering three superstars as the Ring General’s opponent for the event.

The report notes that WWE is considering Brock Lesnar, Rey Mysterio, and Oba Femi to face Gunther at WrestleMania 42. Fans had already speculated that the feud with Dragon Lee might lead to the Ring General retiring Mysterio, Lee’s former LWO partner, and it appears the company might be looking in that direction as well.
Gunther has been on record saying he’s open to Brock Lesnar being the next legend he retires. The Beast Incarnate has issued an open challenge for WWE WrestleMania 42, daring anyone to answer it in the coming weeks. The Ring General might step up and book a showdown with Lesnar in Las Vegas.
Oba Femi has only recently made his main roster debut and scored quick victories against Kit Wilson and The Miz on episodes of SmackDown. He’s begun a proper feud with Rusev and brawled with him on this week’s RAW. While reports noted that WWE could be looking to put Femi against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 42, it will be interesting to see how a match between the Ruler and Gunther materializes.
