WWE’s Bruce Prichard Comments on ‘Misconceptions’ About Saudi Arabia

WWE’s presence in Saudi Arabia is a controversial topic, and one that WWE’s Bruce Prichard believes is often misunderstood.

During a recent episode of his podcast Something to Wrestle, Prichard talked about what he believes are a lot of misconceptions regarding WWE’s appearances in Saudi Arabia. For one, Prichard says, a big misunderstanding is what it’s like there.

“Lot of misconceptions about what it’s like [in Saudi Arabia]… You know, you get there, and the place is a lot of desert, man. A lot of sand, but you know when you get into the city you could be in any city anywhere in the world,” Prichard said (via Wrestling Inc.). “But the people are so damn nice! [It’s] kind of hard to get mad at, because they try to bend over backwards to do whatever they can do for you.”

Prichard also detailed how his first time in the country resulted in a big cultural shock, as he wasn’t used to some of the customs in the country.

“We went in, and as soon as we went in, they went: ‘No! No men, women only!’ I’m like ‘What the hell?’ And then I realize, oh, we probably should’ve checked, you know, customs and everything,” said Prichard.

Despite the controversy surrounding the company’s appearances in the country, they don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. After hosting 2026’s Royal Rumble, WWE is next set to host its biggest show of the year, WrestleMania, in the country, with WrestleMania 43 set to take place in 2027 there.
