John Morrison has lost arguably the most recognizable part of his identity.
The former WWE Superstar was in action this past Friday at a CMLL and AEW co-produced event. The Shaman of Sexy faced Ángel de Oro in a hair vs. hair match at the February 26 show.
In the closing moments, De Oro planted Morrison with a rope-assisted Mexican Destroyer, followed by a frog splash for the victory. After the match, Oro shaved Morrison’s head bald, prompting a shocked reaction from the ROH star.
John Morrison is best known for his time in WWE. He signed with the company after winning Tough Enough Season III alongside Matt Cappotelli. Morrison is a former multi-time Intercontinental Champion, ECW World Champion, and tag team champion in the promotion.
He is also a former IMPACT World Champion. Perhaps the most memorable part of his title run was Austin Aries no-selling his finisher and walking out.
John Morrison has been with All Elite Wrestling since 2022, making his in-ring debut under the ring name “Johnny Elite” in the Owen Hart Cup. Morrison also competes for Ring of Honor as part of MxM TV, alongside his wife Taya Valkyrie, Mason Madden, and Mansoor.
Whether Morrison wears a durag the next time he appears on wrestling television remains to be seen.
