Jey Uso Stretchered Out on WWE SmackDown, Elimination Chamber Status in the Air

WWE SmackDown opened in shocking fashion on February 27 in Louisville, Kentucky, as “Main Event” Jey Uso was loaded into an ambulance before the show properly got underway. With Elimination Chamber just one night away in Chicago, his status is suddenly anything but certain.

The broadcast began with chaos backstage. Members of the locker room surrounded the scene while emergency responders tended to Uso. Cameras caught Jacob Fatu at the back of the ambulance, vowing to “get to the bottom of this,” while tensions simmered among several Superstars scheduled for Saturday’s Chamber match.

Emergency Medical Personnel Called After Backstage Attack On Jey Uso

According to commentary and on-screen developments, Uso was found backstage, buried under equipment, following a reported attack moments before SmackDown went on air. He had to get into a stretcher as WWE transported him to a local medical facility, as officials tried to restore order.

The identity of the attacker remains unknown. Speculation quickly spread, with some pointing toward Jacob Fatu. Fatu appeared visibly furious and even lashed out at security, while others noted a mysterious “man in a box” tease earlier in the night.

Fellow Chamber participants Trick Williams and Je’Von Evans blamed one another as confusion escalated. Drew McIntyre, entering through the crowd, mockingly suggested he expected accusations against him to come in.

Uso had earned his Chamber spot on the February 23 episode of Raw by defeating Bronson Reed and “Original” El Grande Americano. He now faces an uphill battle just to make it to the structure. WWE officials have stated his participation is “in doubt.”

The timing couldn’t be worse. Jey has recently shown a more aggressive edge — including a spear to LA Knight — while still navigating Bloodline tensions and holding World Tag Team gold with Jimmy Uso.

With Chicago looming, the question isn’t just who attacked Jey — it’s whether he earns medical clearance to yeet inside the Chamber.
