Cody Rhodes says WWE WrestleMania 42 could turn out to be a memorable event despite the slow build-up.
Speaking on Mostly Sports with Brandon Walker, former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes addressed the impatience prevailing among fans about the slow build-up to WrestleMania 42. With only 50 days left for the event, the promotion has announced only two matches so far.
Cody Rhodes noted that the road to WrestleMania 42 looks unpredictable this year. He said that, despite not having a clear direction or a staple piece like John Cena‘s final WrestleMania last year, the event could surprise everyone once everything comes together.
He is essentially asking fans to trust the process as he believes a “sleeper WrestleMania” is emerging, one that might not look flashy on paper right now, but could end up exceeding expectations.
“Enjoy the season. It’s unpredictable this year. I know there’s a little bit of impatience in general, what are the matches — it’s a Road To WrestleMania and I think what Triple H will — I think there’s a sleeper WrestleMania emerging if that makes any sense. Sometimes the tenures are very obvious, sometimes the big staple pieces like John Cena’s final [Mania match]. I think we’re sitting on a sleeper mania here,” Cody Rhodes said. [H/T Fightful]

During his recent appearance on ESPN’s Get Up, Cody Rhodes showered praise on WWE RAW star Je’Von Evans, describing him as a game-changer like AJ Styles. Evans is among the five other contenders Rhodes will face inside the Elimination Chamber tomorrow.
“Je’Von Evans is our youngest guy, I think, competing in the Elimination Chamber. And if you haven’t seen what Je’Von Evans can do, yet, it’s truly amazing. He’s changing the game the same way AJ Styles changed the game years ago, but also when you taste the steel in these type of matches, it’s a different vibe. There’s a different level of grit to it.
