WWE producer Michael Hayes has reached a significant sobriety milestone.
WWE senior producer and Vice President of Creative Writing & Booking, Michael Hayes, was a recent guest on the Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast. During the conversation, he shared that he has reached a significant sobriety milestone after spending almost 17 months without having a drink. The 66-year-old noted that he initially feared he would lose his creativity due to his abstinence because a lot of his ideas came while he was drunk, high, or both.
“I’m almost 17 months now without a drink. That’s made a world of difference for me. I was worried at first that I would lose some of my creativity because a lot of it came when I was drinking, or high, or both,” Michael Hayes said. [H/T Fightful]
Michael Hayes says Naomi walking out of WWE was ‘the wrong thing to do’
On the second season of the Netflix docuseries WWE: Unreal, Michael Hayes shared his thoughts about Naomi walking out of the company in 22 alongside Sasha Banks (Mercedes Moné in AEW) after a creative dispute. He noted that she should’ve stayed and cooled down so she would’ve realized why walking out was a bad idea.
“I was very surprised and shocked that Trin decided to get up and walk out,” Michael Hayes recalled. “That’s the wrong thing to do. That’s just the wrong thing to do. You work the show, and you work the show, not because you don’t want to then. It’s for down the line when things cool off and you go, ‘Phew, glad I really didn’t burn that bridge.'”
Naomi returned to WWE in 2024. 2025 turned out to be a successful year for her, as she won the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and then cashed it in to become the Women’s World Champion. However, her reign ended in 36 days after she had to vacate the title due to her real-life pregnancy.
