John Cena Gave Rey Mysterio A Great Learning Experience After Final WWE Match

Rey Mysterio recalls the great learning experience he got from John Cena after his last WWE RAW match.

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio recently appeared on Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast. He and Sheamus had teamed up with John Cena in his last WWE RAW match on November 17, 2025, to take on the Judgment Day. He recalled the backstage conversation he had with Cena after the contest. It must’ve been a very insightful talk, as he noted it gave him a great learning experience.

“I had a learning lesson with John and Sheamus and myself. John had a good talk with us after our match,” Rey Mysterio began.

“Obviously, you can’t feel like you know everything, but you never stop learning. I think that’s what always keeps me so on my toes and always willing to learn and accept, and know how to adapt.

“That’s the one thing about this sport – if you think you know it all, you’re completely wrong, because there’s always new stuff that you learn. Or even not new stuff – stuff that has been around, you just haven’t applied it to your work. It was a very good learning experience,” Rey Mysterio said. [H/T WrestleTalk]

Rey Mysterio gave an update on his daughter’s wrestling future

Fans have been speculating about Rey Mysterio’s daughter, Aalyah Mysterio’s, wrestling future after she visited the Performance Center last year and trained with Natalya at Dungeon 2.0. She broke into the spotlight after appearing in WWE during her father’s storyline against Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy in 2020.

Speaking in the same interview, Rey Mysterio revealed the next step in Aalyah Mysterio’s journey into professional wrestling.

“So I said, ‘Okay, the next step would be, let’s see if you can go through a full week of training. And if you can do that and you like it afterwards, then maybe it’s something you might want to think about.’ I’m actually trying to get her out there pretty soon so she can just feel what it’s like to train every day,” Rey Mysterio said. “Wake up, work out all day, sleep, back, same thing, That’s insane. Like, I’ve thought about that and it scares me, but it also excites me.” [H/T f4wonline.com]
