WWE’s Seth Rollins Reveals The Only Way He Might Reconcile With CM Punk

WWE star Seth Rollins opens up about reconciliation with CM Punk after 2014 rift.

Back in 2014, Punk walked out of WWE and later publicly criticized the company. At the time, Rollins was rising as one of WWE’s top stars and did not react kindly to how Punk handled his departure. The real-life tension between the two has been used on many occasions in their storyline.

Since Punk’s comeback, the two have shared the ring multiple times. They even clashed in the main event of WrestleMania 41 in a Triple Threat Match that also featured Roman Reigns. While they have been able to work together professionally, Rollins admits their personal relationship is still complicated.

Seth Rollins revisits 2014 WWE fallout while discussing CM Punk reconciliation

Speaking on the Club Shay Shay podcast with Shannon Sharpe, Rollins was asked directly if he and Punk have made up. “No, I wouldn’t say so,” Rollins said. “I mean, there’s obviously some sort of working relationship otherwise, you know, we wouldn’t be able to go out there and have matches, but there’s just so much.”

Rollins explained that the history between them still affects how he views Punk. “It’s so complex. I think maybe once we’re both away from the business or retired or have hung it up, there might be an opportunity for reconciliation there. It’s just so hard for me to separate the CM Punk that there is now from the CM Punk that was a really rotten friend to me 10 years ago. And so it’s just those wounds take time to heal.”

He added, “I think whether or not he cares to make the effort to do that and I care to care if he makes the effort to do that, I don’t know. I don’t know if either of us have the time for it at the moment.”
