Thunder Rosa Returns to AEW Dynamite After Lengthy Injury Absence

AEW Dynamite on February 18 featured a major development in the women’s division, as Thunder Rosa made her long-awaited return following months away due to injury.

The show had already seen The Brawling Birds defeat B3CCA and Viva Van in tag team action when attention shifted backstage. There, Kris Statlander appeared alongside Rosa in a segment that quickly raised eyebrows.

Statlander addressed the aftermath of her recent strap match loss to AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla on the February 11 episode of Dynamite.

Although she admitted she is not medically cleared to wrestle, Statlander made it clear she still wants payback. “I don’t want to wrestle, I want to fight,” she said, referencing the damage done in that title bout.

That is when Rosa stepped forward.

Rosa confirmed she was officially cleared earlier that day. After watching what happened to Statlander, she did not hold back. She stated she is coming for Thekla — and delivered the message with intensity, switching into Spanish to emphasize her point.

Statlander warned her that Thekla is dangerous. Rosa’s response was simple: she’s “better than ever.”

Rosa later reposted AEW’s clip of the segment with the caption, “I’m back!” — a statement that carried more weight than a simple hashtag return.

The comeback follows a hiatus that began in July 2025 after Rosa suffered a concussion at All In: Texas. Since then, she has undergone recovery and resumed full training in January 2026. While absent from AEW television, she remained Riot Cabaret Women’s World Champion and is scheduled for a title unification match on April 28 in the United Kingdom.

Now cleared and stepping into Statlander’s spot, Rosa is riding straight into Thekla’s path. If the champion thought the storm had passed, Dynamite made it clear — Thunder Rosa has reentered the forecast.
