Adam Copeland is reportedly expected to return AT AEW Double or Nothing 2026.
The former TNT Champion has been off AEW television since September 2025. His last appearance came at AEW All Out, where he teamed up with Christian Cage to defeat FTR in a tag team match. However, the celebration did not last long.
After the match, FTR attacked Copeland’s wife, Beth Copeland, while Copeland was handcuffed to the ropes. Following that storyline attack, Copeland stepped away from AEW. On television, he told Christian Cage that he needed to go home and take care of his family.
However, Copeland went off TV due to his Hollywood commitments. He worked on the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the movie The Beekeeper 2. Since then, he has remained off AEW programming.
On a recent WrestleVotes Q&A session, it was reported that officials backstage expect Copeland to return in time for AEW Double or Nothing 2026. The report stated, “Adam Copeland’s been off for quite a while, but Double or Nothing is coming to New York City, inside a 14,000 to 15,000-seat open-air stadium. Adam Copeland is expected to be back by Double or Nothing.” [H/T: ewrestlingnews]
AEW Double or Nothing is reportedly set to take place at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens in May 2026. The company plans to bring the event to New York this year. Copeland is likely to return at the show. The setting would be perfect for his comeback.
