Shawn Michaels had plenty of parting words for Trick Williams before his WWE main roster call-up.
After entertaining fans in NXT and TNA, Trick Williams resurfaced on the main roster as a free agent in December 2025. He was assigned to the SmackDown brand in early January and made his in-ring debut against Rey Fenix a week later.
During a recent appearance on the In The Kliq podcast, Williams was asked if he had received any advice from his former boss, Shawn Michaels, while making the transition from NXT to the main roster.
According to Trick Williams, not only did Michaels offer a lot of guidance, but the WWE Hall of Famer was also one hundred percent right in everything he told the former TNA World Champion.
“He did. He’s had a lot of advice for me, and I can’t really share it on camera, but all I can say is he’s been 100% right,” Trick said.
Trick Williams says WrestleMania 42 would mean everything to him
Asked what it could mean for him if he gets the opportunity to compete at WrestleMania 42, Trick Williams said: “Man, it means everything to me. You don’t want to miss it.
“This is a road to WrestleMania, this is a road to whoop that around the world. Go get your tickets off Ticketmaster. Your dollars will make you holler. Come see us, let’s whoop that. Let’s talk about it — Ticketmaster. Find your boy.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Trick Williams said it feels unreal to be called up to WWE SmackDown alongside his fiancée, Lash Legend, around the same time.
