WWE Applies To Trademark New NXT Stable Name

WWE has applied to trademark the name for a new NXT stable.

On Wednesday, February 11, WWE applied with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to trademark the term ‘Birthright.’ The company has seemingly confirmed the name of a new NXT faction with the application.

The USPTO has accepted the application, and it’s awaiting assignment to an examining attorney. The application notes that the filing is to cover goods and services related to professional wrestling performances.

“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment,” WWE’s application reads.

WWE might’ve trademarked the name for Lexis King’s new NXT faction

While it’s not confirmed who might be part of the faction, it’s worth noting that WWE NXT star Lexis King has been using the word ‘Birthright’ over the past few weeks. He has been attempting to recruit other stars into his faction, including Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Arianna Grace, who is also a second-generation wrestler like King.

Lexis King is the son of the late WCW and WWE star Brian Pillman, and Arianna Grace is the daughter of TNA’s current on-screen Director of Authority, Santino Marella. King had also recently approached Charlie Dempsey and Uriah Connors, the sons of WWE legends William Regal and Fit Finlay, to join the group.

His idea is that their families have built wrestling legacies that they are now continuing, while the others in WWE NXT are merely influencers and athletes who have had everything handed to them.
