Private Party is looking to do things differently following their return to AEW.
After a prolonged absence since January 2025, Marc Quen and Isiah Kassidy of Private Party returned to AEW on this week’s episode of Dynamite. They came out as the wild card team in the AEW World Tag Team Championship No.1 contender’s match against the Young Bucks and the Rascalz. Matt and Nick Jackson emerged victorious, earning the right to challenge FTR for the title.
After the event, Private Party spoke to Renee Paquette outside the arena. Isiah Kassidy and Marc Quen explained how they felt after losing the AEW World Tag Team Championship last year and having to sit on the sidelines for a long time.
“To be honest, Renee, it still rattles our minds that we were here since day one, when the motto was, ‘Undesirable to Undeniable.’ We wanted those tag straps for so long that it took us five years to get there. We got to the highest point of the mountain; we still felt undesired,” Marc Quen said.
Isiah Kassidy then chimed in, saying, “Like he said, it took us five years to finally accomplish something that we’ve been dreaming of. Over a year ago, Private Party was at the top of the world. We did it. And just like that, things went left, and we were gone.
“You see, that’s not just time, though. That’s self-doubt weighing on you heavy. That’s depression peeping up on you. That’s family asking. ‘Yo Zay, What’s your next move?’ and you don’t have an answer. And then when you say, ‘This is my next move,’ they say, ‘Well, you should probably get a Plan B.’ Nah, this is actually my Plan A, my Plan B, and my Plan C. They look at you crazy.
Private Party is going to start moving with more purpose
“Y’all don’t see the part I’m calling Quen up late at night, replaying every decision, every moment, every conversation, wondering, ‘Damn, where the fu*k did it go wrong?’ Y’all don’t see that part, though. But Renee, you know what the hardest part is? It’s watching the world move on like you didn’t even matter,” Isiah Kassidy continued.
“But it’s all good. It’s not no sob story. I’m just trying to answer the question that you asked. Going forward, there’s not gonna be no redemption story either. Private Party’s gonna start moving a little bit different. The way we’re gonna start moving is with more resentment. Just with a purpose.”
