MJF supports Bad Bunny amid Super Bowl controversy.
Music sensation Bad Bunny’s involvement with the upcoming Super Bowl has sparked strong reactions online. The global star is set to make history this Sunday by becoming the first artist to perform at Super Bowl halftime show entirely in Spanish.
Since the announcement in September, Bad Bunny’s selection has drawn backlash from some Donald Trump supporters, with critics controversially using his identity to argue that he should not be allowed to perform at the halftime show.
Amid the controversy, Bad Bunny has also found support within the wrestling world. AEW World Champion MJF was recently asked by Compas on the Beat for his thoughts on the backlash surrounding Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime appearance.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman responded humorously, referring to the singer as a “massive MJF mark,” before praising Bad Bunny for his involvement in the Super Bowl halftime show.
“As far as Bad Bunny goes, he’s a massive MJF mark. He told me how much he loves my stuff. I love his stuff. I think he’s supremely talented. I think it’s incredible to have, you know, just a Hispanic man be the main attraction for the Super Bowl halftime show. Correct me if I’m wrong — how many times has that happened?
“But I think for him to be the center of attention, I think it speaks volumes, the same way that it did when Kendrick got to be in the center there. I think it’s really cool that, you know, we’re showing different races and creeds that haven’t always been allowed to be spotlighted in big-time situations like this. It doesn’t get bigger than either All In at Wembley Stadium — which I believe is August 30th this year — or the Super Bowl when it comes to the biggest things that are going on in professional sports.”
