Jey Uso is not backing away from the spotlight or the critics. As the WWE Universe is debating The Bloodline’s dominance once again as WrestleMania 42 gets closer, the YEET Master made it clear he sees himself as one of WWE’s very best.
Over the last few years, Jey has taken the responsibility of handling big storylines. He has won the WWE Intercontinental title, the Royal Rumble, and the World Heavyweight title in the last two years. The former Royal Rumble winner has also performed admirably in major singles feuds and main event matches. His crowd connection and unique promos have helped him step out from The Bloodline drama and stand on his own.
However, he has been privy to some criticism about his in-ring ability. Some fans and analysts question whether he is truly main-event level. The Internet Wrestling Community (IWC) has pointed out some sloppy moments in his matches and believes that his move set is also fairly limited.
They also point out that, despite showing some promising mic skills during his Bloodline split storyline, his later babyface-focused promos have become repetitive and one-dimensional.
Despite his immense popularity, especially with the whole “Yeet” catchphrase taking off, some critics feel he is being pushed too hard. They feel that some of his matches against top stars haven’t fully lived up to the hype.
Jey Uso Sees Himself As A Top Guy in WWE After Recent Backlash Online
Nevertheless, even though he currently holds the WWE World Tag Team Championships with his twin brother Jimmy Uso, Jey feels bigger than just the titles around his waist. “Man, I consider myself a top guy. I’m him,” Jey stated recently (via WDYATA).
With that statement, Jey is putting his name next to current big names like Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. Rhodes has emerged as the face of the company in recent years, while Rollins’ marquee stature isn’t in question. Jey sees himself right there with them, ready to “YEET” his way to the top.

Meanwhile, the YEET Master made those confident comments at a time when The Bloodline is receiving a lot of criticism. Many fans didn’t like that Roman Reigns won the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble. The victory earned him a World Heavyweight Championship match against CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, and put him right back in the main event spotlight.
Some argued that Reigns, who already had a legendary run, didn’t really need another Rumble win or a direct path to WrestleMania’s biggest title match. Others also expressed their annoyance with certain production choices during the match, like cameras focusing on Jey’s entrance while Brock Lesnar succumbed to an elimination in the background. It felt like The Bloodline members were WWE’s top priority.
Amid all this online criticism, Jey defended his family. In a strong message on his Instagram Stories, he pushed back against the negativity aimed at The Bloodline.
“So much hate on dis mf. I’ll never hate on my own family. We lift each other up, the whole world already trynna keep us down,” Jey wrote. He also made it clear that The Bloodline is still going strong and will continue to be at the forefront of WWE.
