WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has shared his honest take on the booking of The Wyatt Sicks, admitting that the faction has struggled to fully find its footing.
Speaking on his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi opened up about the emotional and professional challenge of continuing the legacy of the late Bray Wyatt, particularly for his brother Bo Dallas. He said, “I’m going to try to put my personal feelings away, because I have love and respect to the Rotunda family.”
“But I just felt from the start that after the brother, we all gathered together to really kind of hold on to that memory of Bray. And when we seen the Brother Bo come in, to be able to carry on that same character and so forth. It was so kind of personal to a lot of the wrestling fans.”
He went on to highlight the pressure Bo Dallas faces stepping into a world created by his late brother. “You can imagine the pressure for the brother, right? That knowing that him stepping into a character that his brother created. And you know you either got to be as good as your brother or better.”
Rikishi says WWE may have dropped the Ball on The Wyatt Sicks
Rikishi praised Bo Dallas’ wrestling ability, he stressed that talent alone isn’t enough to make a faction succeed at the top level. “Bo is a good, good wrestler. But the thing is, for us as talent, we can only do so much in there, like we need all the pieces of the puzzle to be able to fit.”
“The writing team, the effects team. So at the end of the day, I feel that maybe the team has dropped the ball on him, I don’t know. Maybe it was personal, or they just gave up on Bo’s team. I think now it’s where do you go, and not unless they’re coming back for a special match for WrestleMania.”
Despite the criticism, Rikishi still sees value in the faction if used correctly. “I think they can still be a good, solid team for like Halloween and that time. Because I’m a big fan of the characters, and every single person on there can work. So I don’t feel like it’s, they’re working, that’s holding them back from anything.” [H/T: wrestlingnews.co]
