After WWE Royal Rumble 2026 wrapped up, a lot of fans walked away thinking the path was clear for Brock Lesnar against a rising star at WrestleMania 42.
At WWE Royal Rumble 2026, Brock Lesnar entered the Men’s Rumble at No. 22. He looked as dominant as ever, tearing through opponents like he always does. One moment stood out above the rest, though his intense run-in with former NXT Champion Oba Femi
The two collided hard in the middle of the match, trading German suplexes and clotheslines. Neither man backed down as the exchange grew more intense. In the end, Brock Lesnar had the final say and eliminated Oba Femi from the match.
Since that face-off, speculation has been amongst the fans that they will collide once again. Oba Femi is done with NXT and headed straight for the main roster. He hasn’t been officially signed to any brand yet, but he made a noticeable impact on WWE RAW this week against The Viking Raiders.
Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi still up in the air for WWE WrestleMania 42
According to Dave Meltzer, things might not be that simple. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer revealed that the match is not 100% confirmed for WWE WrestleMania 42. He said, “That’s not 100% by the way. It should be, I agree it should be, but it’s not…I had asked about a bunch of matches for Mania and most of them were correct as it turned out, including Roman Reigns and [CM] Punk, although that was very clear obviously.”
“But the one that I was told that’s not–I mean it could happen, I’m not saying it’s not happening, I’m just saying that I was told that this one’s not 100%, that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
Lesnar vs. Femi is still up in the air. The main event scene is starting to take shape. After winning the Royal Rumble, Roman Reigns officially chose CM Punk as his opponent for the World Heavyweight Championship.
