Goldberg got hilariously trolled during the latest episode of WWE RAW on Netflix.
After retiring Goldberg and John Cena, Gunther claimed yet another legendary career when he defeated AJ Styles at the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble. The February 2 episode of RAW featured the aftermath of the PLE, and the fans at Philadelphia came prepared, especially with the signs.
One particular fan drew some attention with his sign referencing Gunther’s current career-killer run. He hilariously took a dig at Goldberg with the sign that read, “I miss AJ and Cena but not Goldberg.”
Goldberg was not very popular among wrestling fans during the final years of his career, especially due to WWE giving him several world title opportunities. The fan sign basically sums up the WCW legend’s polarizing legacy.
However, Goldberg wasn’t the only one who got trolled on WWE RAW, as Gunther poked fun at AJ Styles over retiring him as well.
Former WWE writer calls Goldberg the most difficult wrestler he’s ever worked with
During his recent appearance on Maven Huffman’s YouTube channel for a segment titled Which WWE Superstars Are Actually Jerks?, former WWE and WCW writer Vince Russo claimed Goldberg was the most difficult wrestler he’s ever worked with.
“The most difficult personality that I ever had to work with? He just bought his own hype,” Russo said. “I needed Bill to do the job for Scott Steiner. And he refused to. I said to him, ‘Bill, can you tell me why?’ And he said, ‘Because if this were real, I would kick Steiner’s ass.’” And I said, ‘No, you wouldn’t. Bill, he’s right over there. Go tell Scott that and see what he says.’
“But it got so bad with Bill. It got so bad that we had to fly him and his agent into Atlanta so Brad Siegel, the head of the network, could tell him, ‘You need to lose this match.’ So here’s the thing. We get there that night… there’s no Brad Siegel. The only one there is me. Goldberg’s in a room. Johnny Laurinaitis comes out red in the face: ‘Vince, you’ve got to go talk to him. He’s not doing the job.’ So I’m like… we flew him to Atlanta, we’ve been through all this, and we’re two hours from showtime.’
Russo also revealed why Goldberg refused to put over Scott Steiner.
