Former NJPW Star In Talks With WWE — Report

It appears one of New Japan Pro-Wrestling‘s top stars might be making the jump to WWE.

While efforts have been made in recent years to change the date around, plenty of contracts in New Japan end up expiring in January following the yearly Wrestle Kingdom pay-per-view.

This is common knowledge among companies like WWE, which look to sign talent away when their deals expire. And now it appears a former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion might be on their way to the company.

According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), EVIL is currently evaluating his options outside of New Japan and has spoken with WWE about joining the company. EVIL has been present at multiple WWE shows as of late to support talent on the roster close to him.

While people in New Japan believe there are other options for EVIL in Japan, the consensus is that he’ll be relocating to the United States.

Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
