Will AJ Styles‘ WWE career end this weekend at the Royal Rumble?
The WWE Universe knew well ahead of time that 2026 would mark the end of The Phenomenal One’s career. But few predicted it would end this quickly. After Styles agreed to put his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble, fans have been in a panic regarding the idea of Styles hanging it up after this weekend. And Shinsuke Nakamura’s now-deleted Instagram post hasn’t done anything to lessen those concerns.
But it appears fans better get ready for the end, whether they like it or not.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, AJ Styles has always been expected to conclude his WWE career before WrestleMania 42, with the Royal Rumble being one of the discussed options for his retirement match.
This isn’t the case of WWE not being prepared for an early Styles’ retirement, as this had been known within the company for a number of months.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
