Drew McIntyre’s WWE Royal Rumble Opponent Revealed

A #1 contender for Drew McIntyre‘s Undisputed WWE Championship has been found.

During Saturday’s edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, a #1 Contender’s Match took place. The bout featured Sami Zayn, Damian Priest, Randy Orton, and Trick Williams all going at it.

In a match that went back and forth and featured a ton of big spots, it was Sami who walked out on top and punched a ticket to Saudi Arabia. The end of the match featured chaos and saw Zayn, Williams, and Priest all go to the top rope. As Zayn looked ready to drop Williams off the ropes, Priest came up and hit Sami with a Razor’s Edge.

Priest and Williams then began battling by the rope, ending with Priest kicking Williams off the apron. As Priest turned back to the ring, though, Zayn was ready. He hit Priest with a Helluva Kick, and that was enough to push Zayn through to the Royal Rumble and a match against Drew McIntyre for the belt.

The 2026 Royal Rumble will take place on January 31, 2026. The event is being held at the King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fully announced card for the show includes:

  • Men’s Royal Rumble Match
  • Women’s Royal Rumble Match
  • AJ Styles vs. Gunther (if Styles loses, he must retire)
  • Undisputed WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Sami Zayn
