R-Truth Reacts To Triple H’s Claim That WWE Never Fired Him

R-Truth shares his take on Triple H’s take that WWE never fired him last year.

The recently released second season of the Netflix docuseries WWE: Unreal dedicated the second episode to R-Truth’s announcement about his release and his subsequent return last year. In the episode, Chief Content Officer Triple H claimed that WWE never fired Truth and there was never a time that he wasn’t under contract with the company.

Now, speaking on The Breakfast Club, R-Truth gave his thoughts on Triple H’s comments, explaining that when he got the call, it felt like a firing to him.

“Ok, let me just ask you this then,” R Truth began. “I got the call, right? I’ve got my agent working on this end with their agent. I’m just gonna stay out of it. Let them handle that thing. If I get a call from this side, saying, ‘We’re not gonna renew your contract,’ or however well as you know, do I come to work?

“It’s Sunday. Next Sunday, when my contract would be in, right? So, do I come to work? ‘No, don’t come to work.’ ‘Oh, ok. Am I done now?’ ‘Yes!’ There was no fight, no calendar. What do you call that? I mean, it’s all the same, or if it’s different? If it ain’t, I mean, that’s what it felt like.”

R-Truth comments on Triple H saying he never intended to fire him

When the host pointed out Triple H‘s comments that he never intended to fire him, and that WWE just wanted to open negotiations with him, R-Truth said:

“That’s why I said, in the time, my agent and their people were talking. And I’ll stand out of that. But I got a call from this person who said, ‘Boom’ (that his contract won’t be renewed). So I wasn’t even in the dialogue,” R-Truth continued.

“This is my first time even having an agent to handle my business. From Georgia to NWA Wildside, I’ve always done my own business. This is my first time having to where I stayed out of the dialogue. So, that’s the way I took it. It felt like a firing to me. Paul took that moment. I couldn’t figure out how it felt.

When asked if the call felt sudden or if he anticipated it, R-Truth said, “No, it was sudden. We were in negotiation. Never for once that I feel bitter, jaded, or anger. I was just at a loss for feelings, and loss for words, and loss for emotion.
