Major Steve Austin Update Ahead of WWE WrestleMania 42 — Report

There’s a new update on Stone Cold Steve Austin that *could* result in his return to WWE.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, there have been internal discussions in WWE about Stone Cold Steve Austin making an appearance in the near future. While the sources are not confident, they did note that Austin’s name has been circulating across multiple departments in the company.

It was noted that while it’s still just a discussion at this point, Austin has been part of a number of pitches in recent years.

Stone Cold Steve Austin had previously confirmed reports that there were pitches for him to appear at WrestleMania 40, and it will be interesting to see if the Texas Rattlesnake will make his presence felt at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Nevada, this April.

Stone Cold Steve Austin comments on having one more match in WWE

During his recent appearance on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin opened up about the possibility of having one more match.

While he believes he could still go in the ring, Steve Austin cited his recent knee replacement surgery as the reason for saying he probably wouldn’t return for another match in WWE.

“Probably not. I’ll say that, but you say never say never. But with the knee replacement I had last year? God dang, I was limping around so bad, and I didn’t know I was limping, and people would ask me, ‘What’s wrong?’ I said, ‘What are you talking about?’ [They said] ‘You’re limping.’ F*ck, I didn’t know, because I don’t watch myself walk,” Stone Cold Steve Austin said.

“And then finally, after everybody kept pointing it out to me, I could feel it, no doubt that’s why I was limping. And then it just started getting really bad because of all the arthritis in there. And finally, last year, I had it replaced. I was thinking why didn’t I do this sooner to get out of so much pain? And I’ve always wondered what arthritis felt like.

“Man, I found out firsthand. And it’s an it’s chronically over time, years and years and years of it. It’ll change your personality. It just puts you in a state of mind where you just want some relief, so to get that relief and come out on the other side and still be active,” Stone Cold Steve Austin said.
