CM Punk left WWE RAW with a literal mark.
The Straight Edge Superstar was the closing act of RAW in Belfast last night. Punk put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Ireland’s own Finn Balor. After a back-and-forth match, the champion silenced the challenger with a Go To Sleep.
CM Punk showed good sportsmanship after the match by pulling Finn Balor to his feet, raising his hand, and hugging him. Punk then celebrated in the ring as a disappointed Balor looked on from the ramp.
The match marked Finn Balor’s first world title opportunity since the triple threat contest at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2024, and his first singles world title shot since SummerSlam 2023.
Taking to Instagram Stories, CM Punk showed his appreciation for Ireland following a successful title defense against Finn Balor on WWE RAW. The Second City Saint also drew attention to the boot print he received on his forehead from Balor.
“Ireland. You are beautiful. Thank you for the career highlight. There’s a boot print on my forehead.”
With Saturday Night’s Main Event and the Royal Rumble 2026 closing in, it will be interesting to see what Triple H has in store for CM Punk when it comes to the next contender for the World Heavyweight Championship.
