Update on Powerhouse Hobbs’ Possible WWE Debut

A new report says WWE believes Powerhouse Hobbs has signed with the company, but no official confirmation has been made yet.

Hobbs has been widely linked to WWE since his departure from AEW. As reported, Hobbs’ AEW contract expired last week. He wrapped up his run with the company on Collision, where The Opps lost the AEW World Trios Championships to Hangman Page and JetSpeed.

With Hobbs now finished with AEW, new details have emerged about his possible move to WWE. According to Fightful (via Fightful Select), sources who spoke with Sean Ross Sapp said that people within WWE are under the belief that Hobbs has already signed with the company.

The report said there is still no confirmation that Hobbs has officially signed a contract. It also noted that WWE has been interested in him for several years. Although he previously talked with AEW, Hobbs reportedly wanted to move on.

Some sources added that WWE expected him to be around during Royal Rumble weekend, though that detail has not been confirmed. WWE Royal Rumble will take place on January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Until WWE or Hobbs makes a public announcement, his status remains unclear, even though many within WWE believe a deal is already in place.
