AEW Dynamite Results:
This week’s episode of Dynamite kicks off with a backstage promo from former AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. He makes it clear that his rivalry with Hangman Page is far from over. Joe says he has placed a bounty on Hangman’s head, and Bryan Keith is coming to collect.
Darby Allin vs. PAC
- The finish of the match saw Darby Allin hit a Coffin Drop on PAC’s ankle, locked inside a steel chair, while the referee was out of commission. Allin put PAC in the Scorpion Deathlock as the referee came to in time to see PAC tap out.
Winner: Darby Allin
Grade: A
These two are out of their damn minds! The things we saw in this match could have easily been saved for a pay-per-view, but we got it tonight on free TV. Major props to both Allin and PAC for putting their bodies through a match of this magnitude tonight. Crazy stuff! What a way to kick off Dynamite: Maximum Carnage this evening.
“The Bounty Hunter” Bryan Keith (w/ Big Bill) vs. Hangman Page
- The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland assist Hangman Page in the numbers game with Big Bill. Page hits Bryan Keith with a Buckshot Lariat to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Hangman Page
After the match, Hangman Page gets on the microphone and tells Samoa Joe that he’s going to take everything away from him. Swerve Strickland says if MJF wins tonight, he actually lost because they will be coming after him, and they will be relentless. Swerve says he’s going to get back to the top of the mountain this year, and it will be Swerve’s House once again.
Grade: B+
Very fun match. It’s good to see Bryan Keith getting more singles opportunities in AEW. I would like to see something new for him entirely, where he and Big Bill could go their separate ways, but that doesn’t appear to be in the cards at the moment. I guess we’ll see what 2026 brings.
Kenny Omega has returned!
Kenny Omega’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring. Omega says he had his own time etched out for what he had to say, but why not come out now when three of the biggest challengers for the AEW World Championship are standing in the ring right now.
Omega says he doesn’t want to speak for anyone in the ring, but he feels like they all have something to prove. Kenny says when the fans called him the God of pro wrestling, that meant something, and if they still believe, then he still believes. Omega knows he needs to get some wins in order to get a title shot, and whether it be friend or foe, he’s coming for that belt.
Hangman Page says all three of them want the title, but unfortunately, this is not a team effort. Page says if they cross paths, may the best man win. Hangman and Omega shake hands, and Page leaves. Strickland stares down Omega and leaves as well, leaving Omega alone in the ring.
Enough of Kenny Omega and the Don Callis Family
This brings out the Don Callis Family. Callis says he’s always been a big fan of MJF, but he questions his logic in associating with someone like Omega. Callis says if Omega needs to win some matches, why doesn’t he wrestle Josh Alexander? Omega says he could barely hear him over all these people, but if you issued a challenge, he’s got a little bit of time tonight.
Callis says he’ll get the Walking Weapon when he says so and says it will happen on Dynamite next week. The crowd isn’t happy, and Omega apologizes, and they were part of phase one of him becoming the AEW World Champion once again.
Didn’t love the turn this promo took. We need to get Omega as far away from the Don Callis Family as possible. This best just be a match with Alexander, and then Omega can move on because I’m beyond sick of Omega being stuck in the Don Callis Vortex.
Poor Jon Cruz…
Brody King is backstage with Renee Paquette. Jon Cruz interrupts and complains about Bandido and tells King to tell his friend not to throw him around anymore. King says that’s fine because he’s going to do it now, they have a stand-by match, and it’s next.
Brody King vs. Jon Cruz
- The finish of the match saw Brody King hit Jon Cruz with the Gonzobomb to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Brody King
After the match, King hypes up the main event and declares Bandido will be the next AEW World Champion.
Grade: N/A
Another Brody King squash match. They are clearly building him up for something important. I’m just not sure what it is yet. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Four Way match for a future shot at the AEW World Tag Titles: Young Bucks vs. GOA vs. JetSpeed vs. The Don Callis Family
- The finish of the match saw Mark Davis hit Kevin Knight with a piledriver to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: The Don Callis Family
After the match, FTR make their way to the ring and the four men brawl as security attempts to separate them. Big Stoke watches from the stage in his wheelchair.
Grade: A-
The worst possible option won this match, in my opinion. I don’t understand why we’re getting the Don Callis Family against FTR. No one believes the titles will change, and who is the crowd supposed to cheer for? This was certainly a choice. A great match, with a questionable finish.
Babes of Wrath and Kris Statlander vs. Triangle of Madness
- The finish of the match saw Thekla hit Kris Statlander with the stomp to score the pinfall victory for her team.
Winners: Triangle of Madness
Grade: B+
Very fun trios match. I think this outcome was to be expected. If you don’t get new challengers for the champions, then there wasn’t much point to the match in the first place.
Despite the loss, things are looking up for JetSpeed
JetSpeed is backstage with Renee Paquette, feeling down about tonight’s loss. They are approached by Swerve Stricklan,d who puts over Kevin Knight and calls him the future of AEW. After he leaves, Hangman Page comes in and tells them they might have lost their shot at the Tag Titles, but he’s looking for partners to take the Trios Titles from The Opps, and the three of them will do it this weekend on Collision.
It’s announced that The Rascalz will be coming soon to AEW. You can read more about that announcement by clicking here.
AEW World Championship: MJF (c) vs. Bandido
- The finish of the match saw MJF lock Bandido in the Lebell Lock, Bandido passed out, and the referee called the match.
Winner: And still AEW World Champion, MJF
Grade: A
After the match, MJF gets on the microphone and says that when they told him Bandido is going to be an AEW World Champion, he laughed. But after wrestling with him, they are right. MJF says as much as it pains him to admit this, he’s going to be the AEW World Champion one day, which means he needs to do this. MJF attacks Bandido with the title and tries to rip his mask off before Brody King hits the ring to send Friedman running. King checks on his friend and leads a chant of Bandido as AEW Dynamite goes off the air.
AEW Dynamite Review:
I thought this was a really great episode of Dynamite. I would have loved to see Kenny Omega in action, but we’ll get that next week. So that’s better than nothing, I suppose.
Still don’t understand the Don Callis Family win, but beyond that, everything on tonight’s show made sense, and we got a lot of excellent matches.
The main event freaking ruled. While the finish was never in doubt to me, it was still an excellent main event and a great way to end the show.
Grade: A-
